The November Update or Threshold 2 update is the first major update to Microsoft’s latest Windows 10 operating system. While the update was released about two weeks ago, the big update is stilling rolling out, and many PC users are still haven’t received it.
The update not only includes fixes for several issues that Windows 10 users have been experiencing since it’s the upgrade but also brings some cool features to the operating system.
With the latest update installed, users can now get coloured title bars without editing system files, display up to four tile per group on the Start, move installed apps to another drive, and track your device using Find My Device feature. The Windows Spotlight feature, which was previously available only on the Home edition, is now present in Pro edition as well.
How to check the build and version number?
If you are not sure if the latest update is installed on your PC, you can refer to the directions in one of the two methods given below to check if Threshold 2 or November Update is installed on your Windows 10 PC.
Since the update size is in GBs and adds so many features and improvements to the operating system, you should be able to tell if the update is installed or not, without going through these instructions. That said, if you’re not sure, refer to the instructions given below.
Method 1 of 2
Step 1: In the Start menu or taskbar search box, type winver.exe, and then press Enter key to open About Windows dialog.
Step 2: Check the version number as well as the OS build number. If the version number is 1511 and OS build number is 10586, then the November update or Threshold 2 is installed.

Method 2 of 2
Step 1: Open Settings app either by clicking its icon on the Start menu or using Windows + I hotkey.
Step 2: Click System (Display, notifications, apps, power).
Step 3: Scroll down to see About, and then click on the same.
Step 4: Here, check the version and OS build numbers. Version number 1511 and OS build number 10586 indicate the existence of Windows 10 with November Update. That’s it!
